macapp builds seminars that go past the surface
Since 2015, macapp has been running structured remote seminars on virtual reality and AI - not introductory overviews, but sessions where participants spend 6 to 8 hours per topic working through real problems, comparing tools, and discussing what the findings mean for their work.
The platform serves learners across more than 40 countries. Sessions are designed for people who already know the basics and want to go further - engineers, researchers, and practitioners who need more than a slide deck.
What makes the format different
Most online education moves fast and covers a lot of ground. macapp seminars do the opposite - each session picks one specific question and stays with it long enough to actually resolve something. Participants leave with tested conclusions, not just exposure.
Topics rotate across the AI assistant space - from ChatGPT Plus and Claude Pro to Perplexity Pro and Gemini Advanced - and into developer tooling like GitHub Copilot, Tabnine, Codeium, and Sourcegraph Cody. Each tool gets examined on its own terms, not ranked against a generic checklist.

Sessions cover both general AI assistants and specialized developer tools - comparing how Monica AI and Merlin AI handle research tasks versus how Tabnine and Codeium perform in production coding environments.
The people behind the sessions
macapp runs on a small permanent team and a rotating group of domain specialists. No one here is a generalist - each person works in VR or AI full time and contributes from that position.

Specialists, not instructors
The people leading macapp seminars spend the rest of their time doing the work - building in VR environments, testing AI pipelines, writing production code with tools like GitHub Copilot and Sourcegraph Cody. That's what keeps the material grounded.
Sessions are structured so that participants contribute as much as they receive. Discussion isn't a feature bolted onto a lecture - it's built into the format from the start, with 3 to 4 structured exchange periods in every 8-hour block.
